A Quantum Moment
There's only one and it's always waiting...
Heads up on my next podcast, which drops on Monday. It’s a beauty, with Jett Green, an amazing artist who talks about how she reveals the beauty inside in her portraits. You’ll get the link Monday morning.
Now, before I describe my quantum moment of the week, here’s a random thought I had while biking back from tennis this morning. What if a hidden motivator for the A.I. race to build humanoid robots is fueled by male jealousy of women’s ability to give birth? This recalls that song, “Anything you can do I can do better.”
What if?
I did have a quantum moment on the tennis court this morning. I took up the game again recently, after a 30 year absence. It was a shock to immediately experience the limitations of an older body, but I’ve been adjusting.
This morning I reached for a backhand, the kind I used to get effortlessly but simply watch zooming by these days. I made the shot. My opponent said, “Wow! Great shot.” It was a great shot, but it was more than that. I didn’t reach or run … I was just there, as if I had teleported myself 10 feet across the court, and I felt like I was 15 again.
Actually, I was 15.
This was more than a memory, it was an experience. It didn’t come again during that set but it’s something to look forward to experiencing more of! Can anyone relate?
I’m eager to have more of these. And, to facilitate that, I’m making some fundamental changes in my life. For instance, noticing that I’ve been spending a lot of time in front of my screen, emailing and zooming, I’m choosing more in-person, real time exchanges.
I’m not anti-tech. But I am developing zoom fatigue and growing increasingly suspect about everything I read and see and hear online. Who knows if it’s even the real person I’m watching? Deep fakes are getting so realistic. I prefer the real.
So …
I’ve been posting here every week for years and have a lot of subscribers that I never hear from. It’s likely they are just deleting. So, I’ve optioned in Substack’s paywall feature, which gives everyone three weeks of material and then - if they value what I’m sending, they can upgrade to paid ($8 a month) - or they will automatically drop off the list.
This will eliminate the need for someone to delete what they don’t want, while inviting those who value what I write to contribute about the same as a designer coffee twice a month.
As I set this up I temporarily “lost” about 40 addresses that I had to re-subscribe so you may have gotten a notice about that. No worries, you’ll now get the next three weeks of stuff and then you can do nothing and receive nothing or upgrade and keep on receiving posts and podcasts.
Less is often more!
Finally, check out this 2-minute video called Is There Life After Delivery. Fabulous perspective on incarnation. Click here (not on the picture).
