Taking a Stand
Being the change we wish to see in the world
Most hero-centric stories feature someone taking a stand, often after refusing the call for awhile. We can all relate. How many times have we felt urged to stand up for something, shrunk back, then followed through later?
A good friend just told me about her courageous stand, taken with a group of friends who were harshly judging a well known politician. She encouraged them to rise higher and love… unconditionally. Everyone thanked her afterwards.
Which raises a fascinating point. Most of us know this is the right path!
We may know it, but we don’t always take it.
Confronted by injustice - for instance - it’s habitual to complain and give up. “Damn them. But, what can one person do?” we might lament.
Well, one isolated person can’t do much (I was going to say “shit” but this is a PG post).
However, if we understand that we share a quantum reality where we are all entangled, then taking a stand for what’s right is immediately seen as our most effective strategy because everything we think, say, and do affects everyone else.
What could be more powerful?
The stand I’m describing is mostly internal. Yes, we can watch what we say and do. But, meanwhile, what are we thinking and feeling? Often there’s inside activity we’d be embarrassed to see externalized. What if others could hear what we are thinking? So, here’s where taking a stand gets teeth. We learn to watch our thoughts. The moment something arises in reaction to whatever has just triggered us - like a news story or something someone says - we take our stand.
“No, I will not hate… I will not judge… I am here for Love.”
We’re all busy and we may imagine it’s impossible to contribute in any meaningful way to the suffering in the world, given how full our lives are. Well, taking a stand this way takes ZERO time out of our schedule. We do it moment by moment while we are doing whatever we are doing. We become secret / sacred agents for positive change.
Let’s take a stand together and see how our quantum transmission might affect others, close to us in person and entangled everywhere throughout the field.
