Wanted: Sacred Agents
Needed for a Top Sacred Mission
My wife and I recently attended an online Power of Intention prayer event with author Lynne McTaggart, joing 30,000 participants around the world to reduce violent crime in Washington, DC and increase peace in the White House. There are many proven precedents like this that demonstrate the power of group prayer.
I’ve been meditating since I was 20 but this experience was different. Within a moment of beginning our ten-minute transmission (after an hour of instruction) I felt a distinct sensation of energetic compression … a feeling of tightness, with a rush of sudden anxiety. But within a minute or so I felt a relaxation in my field of awareness, increased spaciousness as the anxiety abated and peace flowed in.
We’re continuing with 15-minute prayers together for four more days and someone will be measuring crime rates in DC, before and after. Whether we achieve a remote impact or not, I can attest to the local effect: my wife and I felt blessed. Lynne mentioned this always happens; those doing the praying receive personal healing.
This inspired me to find a cool term to describe our vibrational resonance, a counterpoint to “the internet of things.” Most of us have heard that term which describes exponentially increasing technological interconnectivity, promised to eventually connect everyone and everything into one system of global control. But control by whom and according to whose values?
Like all our inventiveness, everything we make originates in nature, often within our own bodies (levers and pulleys and pumps and circuits, etc.). So what was/is the forerunner for the internet of things? Here’s what I came up with: “the innernet of prayers.”
We are all connected in the quantum network of life itself. So, why not get more intentional about what we share together, locally or remotely, through what we call prayer? Whenever a disaster occurs, authorities comfort those who’ve lost loved ones by saying, “You are in our prayers.” But why wait for a catastrophe to pray? Why not live in a prayerful state, constantly emanating a caring attitude?
Instead of identifying as a mother or a teacher or whatever, we could identify as what I call a “sacred agent” on a top sacred mission: to increase love in the world. Like a secret agent, we work anonymously, but our objectives are compassionate.
I’ve developed a simple breathing practice for this. As I breathe in I say, silently, “Thank you,” feeling grateful for the gift of life. As I breathe out, I say, again silently, “I care…” and I think of a person or a situation, letting my outbreath carry a prayer that direction.
So, friends, if you’re ever feeling overwhelmed by the seemingly impossible challenges of our world and wonder, “What can one person do?” here’s an invitation: Become a sacred agent!
I decided to open my Activation School to everyone so it’s now free, just like life. All you have to do is email me at will@willtwilkinson.com and I’ll send you the zoom link. Your friends are welcome. We start in a couple of weeks. Mark the date.
