Some say that poetry is an acquired taste. Don, who’s been a friend for over 40 years, demonstrates how beautiful simplicity in words can be, a relief for people like me who don’t enjoy pondering hidden meaning in convoluted word spells.
Author of four volumes of poetry, Slender Arrow (1998), Out From Under (2001), The Living Dark (2006), The Irish Girl (2017) and the online weekly Poet’s Journal. He attended college at the University of Notre Dame where he has returned several times as a guest speaker in language arts. Don had an extensive career in construction management, including major facilities for many non-profits throughout the Pacific Northwest. With his second wife, artist and glass sculptor Linda Ethier, now retired, Don lives between the San Juan Islands of Washington and Portland Oregon.
